Festival photos, from the people who shot them.

Bands get the full-resolution originals. Everyone else gets to look — and sometimes buy. Photographers keep their copyright and set their own price.

For Bands

Your set, shot properly.

Someone stood in the pit and got the shot. Right now it lives on their hardware, and you end up with a screenshot of a festival's Instagram post - compressed and cropped, fine for a feed and useless for a poster.

Find your band, see every photo of you from every festival we cover, and buy the full-resolution original straight from the photographer. Use it on your socials, your posters, your merch, your press kit. One payment, no renewals, no usage reports, no invoice six months later.

For Photographers

Get more than Instagram likes.

You shot the whole weekend because you love the bands. Then the asking starts — who wants what, what's it worth, whether the money ever arrives.

Upload your set, set your price, tag the bands. We watermark the previews, handle checkout and sales tax, and send your money by Interac e-Transfer.

  • You keep your copyright. Always.
  • You set the price, and any discount for buying several.
  • Decide whether fans can buy too, at a price you choose.

Photographers join by invitation from a festival we work with — or get in touch if you shoot festivals and we haven't reached yours yet.

For Festivals

Your photographers, credited and paid.

You bring in shooters every year and the photos scatter. Magpie keeps your festival's photos in one place, credits the photographer who took each one, and returns a share of every sale to you.

If you already hold usage rights to your photographers' images, tell us and you'll get all of them, automatically.

Crowd and venue photos are shown only if your ticket terms cover photography, and anyone who'd rather not appear can have their photo taken down straight away.

For Fans

Look for free. Sometimes take one home.

Every photo we host is free to browse: your favourite band's whole set, the crowd you were standing in, the venue at golden hour.

Some photographers also sell their work for personal use - a print for your wall, a wallpaper for your phone.  Where they do, there's a buy button. Where there isn't one, the photographer has chosen to sell only to the band.

Personal use means exactly that: it's yours to enjoy, not to sell, print on merchandise, or use commercially.

How it works

  1. Photographers upload. Invited photographers post their set within days of the show. Previews go up watermarked.
  2. Find yourself. Search your band name, or browse a festival by act.
  3. Buy once, download clean. Full-resolution files, no watermark. Your download link stays open for 30 days; your licence doesn't expire.

Where the money goes

The price you see is the photographer's price, plus one marketplace fee, plus sales tax.

On a $50 photo, the photographer receives $50. The fee covers a share to the festival, payment processing, storage and running the site. Each festival's share is listed on its page, in its own words.
